Data Storytelling and Visualization Using PowerBI

Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel

This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills required to work with and analyse financial data for businesses using Microsoft Power BI. Participants will learn to work with various data sources, provide data models, create reports and shape data to suit any situation.

Programme Objectives:
This course aims to give a thorough review on how Power BI centralizes, simplifies and streamlines what can otherwise be a scattered, disconnected and arduous process of designing and creating business intelligence repositories and reports.

  • Understanding what Data Storytelling is.
  • Understanding Power BI.
  • Ability to work on various Data Transformation and Cleaning techniques.
  • Creating various interactive charts and formatting the charts .
  • Working with Advanced Visualizations.
  • Create DAX functions.
  • ​MODULE 1: Introduction to Power BI.
  • MODULE 2: Data Wrangling.
  • MODULE 3: Visualizations and Formatting.
  • MODULE 4: Working with filters and Visual Interactions.
  • MODULE 5: Advanced Visualizations.
  • MODULE 6: Reports in Power BI.
Participants are eligible for IBF enhanced course fee subsidies up to 90%. Eligible Individuals Include:
  • ​Company-sponsored individuals or self-sponsored participants
  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents, physically based in Singapore
  • Successfully completed IBF-STS recognized programme (Achieve min. 75% attendance and pass all assessment components)
